Regulatory Environment
Section titled “Regulatory Environment”The United Kingdom’s data protection framework is governed by the UK General Data Protection Regulation (UK GDPR) and the Data Protection Act 2018. Post-Brexit, the UK maintains its own data protection regime that is closely aligned with the EU GDPR.
About the hosting provider
Section titled “About the hosting provider”This region is hosted by UpCloud, a European cloud infrastructure provider founded in 2011 and headquartered in Helsinki, Finland. As a sovereign European provider, all account-related data is stored exclusively in Finland under Finnish and EU data protection regulations. UpCloud operates data centers across multiple European locations including London, which hosts this region.
Key regulatory aspects

- The UK GDPR retains the core principles and rights of the EU GDPR, including data subject rights and lawful basis requirements

- The Data Protection Act 2018 supplements the UK GDPR with provisions specific to UK law enforcement and intelligence services
